Young Cooks is an annual competition that aims to develop the confidence and abilities of young chefs from across Kent, London, and East Sussex to prepare meals to a fixed budget, as well as to increase awareness of healthy options and locally grown produce.
The competition is open to aspiring chefs aged six to19 years old and features three categories: a Primary category for primary school students; Secondary category for secondary school and college students, and the Family category which is open to a young person who is accompanied by an adult to create their dish.
To enter, you will need to create a dish that is delicious, healthy, and showcases your cooking skills. You will then need to submit your pictures online to the Young Cooks website by Wednesday 6th November.
Once the entries have been collected, the judging panel will select 13 finalists who will be invited to cook their dish for a VIP panel at the live final on Thursday 28th November at East Kent College in Broadstairs.
You can find out more about the entry criteria and submit your dishes at www.kentcooks.co.uk
