SkillBuild 2018 competition
We are proud to announce that Level 1 learner Suki-Rose Stewart won her regional heats and left with a gold medal at the SkillBuild 2018 competition, held at Brighton MET on 26 June.
Participants came from all over the south of England ranging from Dartford to Portsmouth and Suki, a level 1 learner studying painting and decorating at the Eastbourne campus, took part in the junior competition which consisted of 3 modules which needed completing in 4 hours (each module being marked for accuracy, finish and overall measuring quality) and won gold.
Demonstrating an understanding of a variety of different skills Suki showed great determination and dexterity under pressure throughout the day and gained a well-deserved medal to highlight the hard work she has put in to training for the competition and throughout her academic year.
“it was a great experience taking part in the competition, it gave me the opportunity to test my skills under pressure and demonstrate all the techniques that I have learnt this year against other students from around the county, winning gold has given me a huge confidence boost and I am already looking forward to competing in more competitions”.
