Pre-Professional Music students from the East Sussex Academy of Music (ESAM), based at Sussex Downs College, Lewes prepare for the Proms

Fresh from performing at the Music for Youth National Festival in Birmingham earlier this month, six-person band Pianjo & Co have been recommended to perform at the Music for Youth (MfY) Proms at the Royal Albert Hall this November!

Pianjo & Co is made up of six students aged 16-18, studying the Pre-Professional Music course at ESAM, run by East Sussex Music at Sussex Downs College in Lewes.

John Sims, Head of ESAM, based at Sussex Downs College, Lewes, says,

“This is a very special and rare achievement, and everyone at ESAM is extremely proud of these remarkable young musicians. This is an incredible achievement as the schools proms are prestigious. Colleagues from ESAM had a very good day on 8^thJuly supporting them up in Birmingham at the Music for Youth National Festival. They are an absolute credit to ESAM and SDC.”
