Travel and Tourism Alumna Loving Life in Dream Role

Miah Haylett, who studied Travel & Tourism at East Sussex College’s Hastings campus until last summer, is now thriving in the industry as a flight attendant for EasyJet!

Following her time studying at East Sussex College, Miah went straight into the industry in what happened to be her dream role! Currently in a role as a flight attendant for one of the UK’s biggest airline companies, EasyJet, Miah is loving life and has never looked back.

Speaking to the College about her journey so far, Miah said, “When I found out I had got my dream job I was over the moon! It was something I had worked so hard for. I was so proud. Working as a flight attendant can be tough, however, it is the best job ever and each day is different. It's a lot of fun.

“The best part of my job role is getting to be involved with passengers every day and the fact of knowing that I'm at work for safety and to help others.”

Miah added, “The support from my tutors Louiza and Hayley was amazing! They would always be an email away whenever I needed them and they provided great support throughout my course.”

Speaking of advice she’d have for young people looking to get into the industry, Miah said, “My advice would be just go for it. It's such a good opportunity and it is worth all the hard work that gets put into it. Cabin crew is a very rewarding job.

“I would 100% recommend the course to others. It's an amazing opportunity and if cabin crew is your end goal then it is the perfect course. It really helped me achieve my goals.”
