Carlene Wiegand and Andrea Butterfill, from the Learning Resource Centre, were keen to do a beach clean and enlisted the help of other staff and students to help keep the beach tidy.
One of the students was Art student, Katie Marden, who will incorporate the litter that she collected into her final art project.
The team met at the Beach Deck cafe just before 11am and spent an hour combing the beach and collected plenty of rubbish.
Andrea Butterfill said:
"It was a very successful clean! We collected a good selection of plastic, beer cans, and crisp packets from the beach, and the weather was great!"
