East Sussex College has officially launched its partnership with Eastbourne LitFest, becoming the festival's first-ever Folio Edition Sponsor and reinforcing its commitment to inspiring a love of reading, creativity and learning across East Sussex.

The partnership was celebrated on Thursday 18th June with a special photo opportunity bringing together East Sussex College CEO and Principal Rebecca Conroy, and representatives from Eastbourne LitFest.

As part of the sponsorship, East Sussex College will support four major events within Eastbourne LitFest's children's and young people's programme, including appearances from acclaimed children's authors Dame Jacqueline Wilson and Jenny McLachlan, the nationally recognised Poetry by Heart competition, and a dedicated young adult literature event featuring leading contemporary voices.

The collaboration reflects a shared ambition to encourage literacy, creativity and wellbeing among children and young people throughout the region, while creating opportunities for families to engage with literature in new and exciting ways.

Rebecca Conroy, CEO and Principal of East Sussex College, said: "We are delighted to be partnering with Eastbourne LitFest and supporting a programme that celebrates the power of reading, storytelling and creativity. Literature opens doors, builds confidence and inspires new ideas, and we are proud to be working alongside the festival to help bring these opportunities to children, young people and families across our community."

Eastbourne LitFest's schools and children's programme is expected to engage hundreds of young people through author talks, creative workshops, poetry events and community activities. Highlights include the Children's Parade through Eastbourne town centre, bringing together pupils from schools across the area to celebrate books and imagination.

Jane Branson, Trustee and Director of Eastbourne LitFest, said: "We are thrilled to welcome East Sussex College as our first Folio Edition Sponsor. Their support will help us expand our reach and create meaningful opportunities for children and young people to connect with books, authors and creative experiences. We share a commitment to nurturing curiosity, confidence and a lifelong love of learning."

The partnership also reflects East Sussex College's wider commitment to supporting cultural and educational initiatives that enrich local communities and create positive opportunities for future generations.

Eastbourne LitFest will take place later this year, bringing together acclaimed authors, poets, performers and thinkers for a celebration of literature, ideas and creativity.
