Motor Vehicle Students Celebrate a Year of Success at Presentation Ceremony

East Sussex College’s Motor Vehicle students in Eastbourne were celebrated in style at a recent end-of-year presentation ceremony, with awards, prizes, and well-deserved recognition for their hard work throughout the year.

The event, hosted by the Motor Vehicle department, gave students the chance to come together, reflect on their achievements, and celebrate another successful year of learning and development. Every student who attended received a certificate of achievement from the college.

Among the award winners were Amelia Mitchell-Rolfe and Jose Petty, who were both recognised as the Most Improved Student of the Year in their respective classes, celebrating the progress they have made throughout their studies.

Ben Lael, a Level 1 Motor Vehicle student, was named Student of the Year in recognition of his outstanding dedication, achievement and contribution throughout the academic year.

A number of students were also nominated by staff for the title of Student of the Year, including Joe Weatherley, and Harrison Rolfe, all recognised for their commitment, progress, professionalism, and positive attitude throughout the course.

Harrison Rolfe, Motor Vehicle Maintenance Repair Level 3 student, said: “The tutors have been amazing and have given us help and opportunities throughout the course.”

Harrison recently contributed to a vehicle restoration project for the popular TV series Bangers and Cash, with the episode featuring the team's work set to be broadcast in the coming weeks.

The ceremony featured a range of awards and prizes, recognising the dedication and achievements of students across all levels of the Motor Vehicle programme.

Mark Streeter, Deputy Head of Curriculum for Motor Vehicle, said: “It was fantastic to celebrate the students’ achievements and hard work across the year. We’re really proud of the progress they’ve made and the skills they’ve developed. Events like this are a great opportunity to recognise their dedication and wish them every success for the future.”

The presentation marked the end of another successful year for Motor Vehicle students at ESC Eastbourne, many of whom are now preparing to take their next steps in the industry, begin apprenticeships, secure employment, or continue their training at the college.
