Performance and Production Foundations – Learn the basics of acting, movement, and production roles. Communicating with an Audience – Master the art of engaging and connecting with audiences. Staging a Performance – Bring ideas to life through teamwork and creative planning. Contextual Research – Discover how history and culture shape performance. Performance & Production Skills – Dive deeper into specialist techniques for stagecraft and technical production. Personal Project – Create a piece that reflects your ambitions and showcases your talent. Final Collaborative Production – Produce and perform a full-scale show for a live audience.
This is a practical, immersive course that mirrors the realities of the performing arts industry.
Minimum four grade 3-9 at GCSE or successful completion of the Level 1 course, and English or maths at grade 3.
Assessment is project-based and portfolio-driven, focusing on your practical work and creative process.
Units 1–8 are internally assessed and verified through evidence such as journals, recordings, and presentations. The final unit, Producing and Performing to an Audience, is externally moderated and graded Pass, Merit or Distinction. Your overall grade for the Diploma is based on this final unit.
