What will I study?

The units of study are as follows. -Communication skills for business -Reception, billing and cashier procedures for front office staff -Business organisation structures -Understanding the tourism industry -Problem-solving in the workplace -Planning an event -Event review and evaluation -Market research and marketing methods in event planning -Human resources planning events -Communications and customer service at events.

What previous qualifications or experience do I need?

Minimum four grade 3-9 at GCSE or successful completion of the Level 1 course, and English and/or maths at grade 3.

How will I be assessed?

You will be assessed the projects, assignments, internally set and marked exams, 2 external exams, live briefs, employer set project and professional discussion.

What qualification will I achieve?

NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Occupational Studies for the workplace NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Event Planning.

What can I do after completing this course?

This course is an ideal preparation to the Introductory Diploma in Travel and Tourism: Aviation or Business T Level or a range of apprenticeships within the sector are available.

Are there any extra costs?

Trips and visits are an important part of this qualification and will incur an additional cost. Overseas trips are not compulsory, we have visited Iceland, New York and China in previous years.
