Our T-Level in Health will develop your knowledge and understanding in a range of core elements that will underpin your learning in the Health and Science sector. You will be given a context to the industry, learn theoretical principles in science, and develop the skills you need to work in this industry.

During the two years of this course, you will study a range of core elements that include how to work within the Health and Science sector, the importance of adhering to organisational methods and policies, the purpose of quality and standards with your work, and understand codes of conduct and ethical behaviour.
You will learn more about Health, Safety and Environmental regulations, focusing on how the industry is regulated, the types of legislation, and how to adopt safe working practices.
You will learn how to manage information and data, record and report information, the importance of information and data storage, and what happens if these procedures are not followed correctly.
You will develop good scientific and clinical practices by improving your knowledge and understanding of the topic, understand the importance of adhering to operating procedures, and learn how to manage equipment, work areas, and stock control. You will also study scientific concepts, such as the structure and function of cells and tissues, microbiology, and immunology.
This T-Level also gives you the opportunity to specialise in one area, depending on your interest. You could choose Dental Nursing or Supporting Healthcare - which includes supporting Adult Nursing teams, Midwifery teams, Theatre teams, Mental Health teams, the care of children and young people, and Therapy teams.
An industry placement is built into this course so you can demonstrate your learning and complete a substantial piece of work in response to an employer-set brief. Your English, maths, and digital skills will also be enhanced throughout the course.
Minimum five grade 4-9 at GCSE or successful completion of the Level 2 course, and English, maths and science at grade 4. A clear DBS check will be required.
Your assessment will be in the form of a two-paper content assessment. Both papers will assess your knowledge and understanding of the course content.
Your employer-set project, set by CACHE in the final term of year one, will be taken under controlled supervision and you will have the choice of three scenarios.
Once you have completed this course, you will achieve a Level 3 T-Level in Health, awarded by CACHE.
Once you have finished the course, you may decide to go into employment, apply for university, or start an apprenticeship. Employment is a natural progression from the course as you will be fully equipped with the knowledge and skills in this particular area.
You may decide that you'd like to start an apprenticeship. Depending on your chosen employer and level of the apprenticeship, you might be able to start a higher apprenticeship at Level 4 and study to degree level.
If you'd like to carry on studying, then you will be able to apply to university. Your T-Level qualification will give you the equivalent grades as 3 A-Levels, which means you will have enough UCAS points to join courses such as Midwifery, Dental Nursing, or Psychology.
The Health T-Level will include an industry placement that will develop the practical and technical skills you need to work in the sector. This placement will last a minimum of 315 hours (approximately 45 days).
You may be able to complete your placements as a block, one day per week or a mix of these. You might be able to split your placement between two or more employers in order to meet the requirements.
This course is currently ony available to students aged 16-18 on the 31st August of the year of entry.
