Vehicle Fitting Skills (Year 2)

The Level 1 Diploma in Light Vehicle Maintenance is direct entry with a minimum of GCSE 2 in English and Maths, or progression from Level 1 Certificate. Course is designed as two days a week at motor vehicle, plus English and Math as required (if less than 4s). This course is designed to supplement the Level 1 Certificate with a higher-level City & Guilds qualification. As well as tyre fitting skills you will learn about stock control and vehicle parts management. COnmpletion of this course will allow you to also seek employment either in a Fast Fit Tyre Centre or as a vehicle parts supplier., or Progression to Level 2 Certificate providing you have also achieved a minimum of 3s in English and Maths

What will I study?

You will complete 30 houirs of work experiance within the college enviornment.

What previous qualifications or experience do I need?

You will need 2 GCSEs grade E/2 or above including English and maths.

How will I be assessed?

Your assessments will be made up of a mixture of written pappers and End Point Practical Assessments.

What qualification will I achieve?

City and Guilds Level 1 Diploma in Light Vehicle Maintenance (7290/11)

What can I do after completing this course?

On completion of this course you will can seek employment within the motor industry as a Parts Advisor of a Fast Fit Tyre Technician. If you have achieved a minimum of GCSE 3 in English and Maths you can progress onto the Level 2 Certificate in Light Vehicle Mainteance and Repair.
