Barbering Diploma Level 2

Whether you're looking to learn a new trade, want to add to your existing skillset, or want to refresh your skills in this ever-changing industry, this course is perfect for you.

We'll teach industry skills, knowledge, and techniques so you can provide men's hair services, including facial grooming, as an excellent barber.

There a number of units you will study to complete the Level 2 qualification. They are:

• Working in the hair industry

• Health and safety

• Consultation

• Shampoo and conditioning

• Promoting products and services

• Blow drying men's hair

• Cut men’s hair

• Cut facial hair

There a number of units you will study to complete the Level 3 qualification. They are:

• Monitor and maintain health and safety practices in salons

• Consultation support for college in hair services

• Cut men's hair to create a variety of looks

• Cut facial hair to create a variety of looks

• Provide Shaving and face massage

Minimum four grade 3-9 at GCSE or successful completion of the Level 1 course, and English and/or maths at grade 3.

You will be assessed through a combination of written and practical assessments.

Once you have completed this course, you will be able to progress onto the Level 3 Barbering course or Level 2 Hairdressing, both courses have an adult part time option or employment within a barber salon.

The course is delivered by Ali Tulu. He is the course leader for Barbering. He is passionate about Barbering and delivery of exciting and fast paced courses. Ali is still very much a part of the industry, as an Advanced Senior Stylist with the award winning MaxOliver Men’s hair Salons in the South East.

The hours are 10.5 hours per week and delivered over one full day and one half day to allow employment opportunities if they arise alongside your course.
