Our Level 2 Beauty Therapy course will teach you all the base skills you need to start your beauty career. You will learn how to perform treatments, including waxing, manicures, pedicures, gel polish, and facials, and learn the fundamentals of anatomy and physiology.

What will I study?

During this one-year course you will use your passion and enthusiasm for helping people to look and feel good to build your understanding and skills in the beauty industry.

This fast-paced course will give you an excellent mix of practical lessons in our fully-equipped salon, building your experience in performing treatments such as waxing, manicure and pedicure services, and skin care treatments on paying clients. You will also carry out salon reception duties, manage bookings, handle payments and replenish stock. Our expert tutors will also give you an insight into the theories and science behind treatments and products.

What previous qualifications or experience do I need?

Minimum four grade 3-9 at GCSE or successful completion of the Level 1 course, and English and/or maths at grade 3.

How will I be assessed?

Your assessment will consist of practical tasks, coursework and exams. Practical assessments are carried out on paying clients in our commercial salons. Essential knowledge is covered through project research, case studies, written/practical assessments and online exams.

What qualification will I achieve?

By the end of the course you will achieve a Level 2 Diploma in Beauty Therapy.

What can I do after completing this course?

This course is the perfect starting point for you to continue your training onto advanced studies such as the Level 3 Technical Diploma in Beauty or Level 3 Technical Diploma in Spa Therapy.

There are a number of career opportunities available to you in the Beauty Therapy industry such as: a Beauty consultant, Beauty therapist or Skin care specialist.

Are there any extra costs?

During the course you will be required to wear a uniform, which will cost approximately £60. You will also be required to purchase your kit for the year which will cost approximately £300. You may also have the opportunity to attend talks and visits throughout the year which may incur additional costs.
