What will I study?

During this one-year course you will be able to learn about the art of make-up, everything from the techniques used in applying make-up to environmental sustainability.

During this course you will take part in specialist workshops with Kryolan make-up trainers and will participate in work experience in local theatres.

What previous qualifications or experience do I need?

Minimum four grade 3-9/D-A* at GCSE or have successfully completed the Level 1 course.

How will I be assessed?

Your assessment will consist of practical tasks, coursework and exams. Practical assessments are carried out on paying clients in our commercial salons. Essential knowledge is covered through project research, case studies, written/practical assessments and online exams.

What qualification will I achieve?

By the end of this course you will have achieved a Level 2 Technical Certificate in Make-up Artistry and a Level 3 advanced technical diploma in Make-Up Artistry

What can I do after completing this course?

Once you have successfully completed this course you will be ready to develop your knowledge and skills to start your career in a variety of roles including theatre, film, photographic studios, salons or self employed basis.

You will also be eligible to become a member of the British Association of Beauty Therapy and Cosmetology (BABTAC) or Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT).

Full kit and uniform will cost £400 and there will be an additional cost of £30 for industry related trips.
