On this course you will study the following modules in the first year: Political Participation in UK Politics and Government of the UK. In Participation in UK Politics you will study Elections, Pressure Groups and Democracy and Political Participation. In Government of the UK you will study issues relating to government and the role of the Executive. In the second year of the course you will study Politics in the USA and The Comparison Between Politics in the USA and UK. This course provides a broad-based background in political theories and practices, which will allow you to develop skills in analysing and evaluating the current political scene.

In the 'Participation in UK Politics' module you will study the opportunities that people have to participate in UK Politics at the national & local levels (Elections, Pressure Groups & Parties). In the 'Government of the UK' module you will study the key institutions such as the Government (P.M. & Cabinet), Parliament and the Courts.
In the second year of the course you will study Politics in the USA and The Comparison Between Politics in the USA and UK. This course provides a broad-based background in political theories and practices, which will allow you to develop skills in analysing and evaluating the current political scene.
