What will I study?

Students on the T Level in Media, Broadcast and Production will gain a deep understanding of the creative industries through a blend of classroom learning and practical experience. The programme covers core topics such as audience research, media law, cultural context, project management, and professional ethics. Students develop essential skills in idea generation, collaboration, reflective practice, and communication. The Content Creation and Production pathway focuses on developing, producing and delivering engaging content across platforms like video, audio, social media and digital publishing. Learners will explore storytelling techniques, visual and audio editing, graphics, and post-production workflows. They’ll work on real-world briefs, mastering tools and technologies used in industry, while learning to adapt content for different audiences and formats.

What previous qualifications or experience do I need?

Minimum five grade 4-9 at GCSE or successful completion of the Level 2 course, and English or maths at grade 4. A portfolio of work will be required.

How will I be assessed?

Students are assessed through:

Core written exam (2.5 hours) Employer Set Project (16.5 hours) Occupational Specialism Project (Content Creation: 35.5 hours)

Assessment includes written tasks, practical projects, and portfolio evidence, with grading across Pass, Merit, Distinction, and Distinction*.

What can I do after completing this course?

After completing the T Level in Media, Broadcast and Production (Content Creation pathway), students can progress to:

Entry-level roles such as Junior Content Producer, Social Media Co-ordinator, Digital Video Editor, or Production Assistant. Level 4+ apprenticeships in media production, post-production, or technical operations. Higher education including HNCs, HNDs or degrees in media, film, digital content, or related creative disciplines.
