Art Craft A Level Y1

  • Art, Craft and Design: This broad based course allows you to experience a number of different areas of study from fine art, graphic communications, photography, textile design and three dimensional design. Within the course you will be able to explore different pathways and specialisms within Art and Design.

These pathways could include:

  • Three-Dimensional Design: An opportunity to learn how to select appropriate materials for three dimensional projects and experiment with texture and surface design. Areas of study can include environmental design, jewellery design and product design.
  • Textile Design: An opportunity to develop skills across a broad range of textiles techniques including fashion textiles, costume design and digital textiles.
  • Graphic Communications: An opportunity to develop an effective personal visual language. Areas of study can include interactive media, advertising and design for film and television.
  • Fine Art: An opportunity to develop your understanding of the creative process and learn to communicate visually. Areas of study include everything from painting, drawing to installation and sculpture.
  • Photography: An opportunity to look, learn and communicate ideas in a way that is personal to you. Areas of study can include portraiture, documentary photography, fashion photography and experimental imagery.

What previous qualifications or experience do I need?

An Art related GCSE grade 4 or an assessed portfolio of work.,Our general entry requirements to study 3 A-Levels or any mixed level 3 programme are: 5 GCSEs grade 4-9 including English Language and/or Maths at grade 5.
