What will I study?

During this two-year UAL course, you will explore performance skills in Dance. It is a vibrant pathway that will put you at the centre of a highly physical dance training programme focusing on technique, performance, choreography and body conditioning. You will study a mixture of Contemporary, Jazz and Commercial dance, alongside other styles, across the two years.

You will be introduced to the realities of a professional working environment and will learn the necessary rehearsal etiquette and professional practice standards required within the industry. Not only that, you'll also have the opportunity to learn first-hand through a variety of exciting workshops and trips to London and New York.

What previous qualifications or experience do I need?

Minimum five grade 4-9 at GCSE or successful completion of the Level 2 course, and English and/or maths at grade 4. A successful audition will be required.

How will I be assessed?

Assessment is primarily through observation and presentation of practical performance projects supported by written coursework, group critique and individual tutorial. You will also take part in a controlled externally set assessment. We'll encourage you to assess yourself enthusiastically, honestly, and critique your practical projects positively.

Once you have completed the first year, you will achieve a Level 3 UAL Performing & Production Arts Diploma, equivalent to 1.5 A-Level. Once you have completed the second year, you will achieve the Extended Diploma, equivalent to 3 A-Levels.
