Inclusive Learning supports and challenges young people aged 16-24 with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities). Our student-first ethos ensures everyone reaches personal goals and learning outcomes. Every young person in our community deserves access to a quality education that equips them with the skills, knowledge, and behaviours to progress towards greater independence and adulthood.
Our team collaborates with students and their families to create personalised learning pathways and set ambitious goals, celebrating achievements throughout the year. Most students have an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP), with some requiring additional support or therapy as specified in their plans. Our specialist staff focus on each student’s strengths, working to build independence and confidence. Courses are designed to prepare young people for adult life, independence, and employment, with dedicated facilities such as therapy rooms, personal care spaces, and sensory areas.
Students are encouraged to improve their Maths and English skills, with options to pursue GCSEs or Functional Skills qualifications if appropriate. They will also develop digital skills, learning how technology and social media can support their adult lives.

Project SEARCH is a one-year supported internship programme for young people aged 18-25 with an EHCP. The course is based at Eastbourne General Hospital which provides the opportunity to gain and develop work related skills, knowledge and behaviour whilst on placement in three different hospital departments. Job coaches and mentors help students overcome barriers and provide the support needed for successful work placements. On graduation, some students have been successful in gaining paid employment at the hospital whilst others find work in their local community.
