What will I study?

During this advanced course you will build on your knowledge from previous study to further understand the roles that our uniformed and emergency services play in supporting, helping and protecting us. You will develop the behavioural and working skills required to be part of the protective services, and understand citizenship and diversity. You will have the opportunity to improve your physical fitness, as well as improve your land navigation during a trip to Snowdon.

You will also get the opportunity to enhance your skills and experience through a range of voluntary events, from organising Black Tie Charity auctions to fundraising activities for various charities.

What previous qualifications or experience do I need?

Minimum five grade 4-9 at GCSE or successful completion of the Level 2 course, and English and/or maths at grade 4.

How will I be assessed?

You will study a total of 10 units in the two years which will be internally and externally assessed through a variety of assessment methods including exams, written reports and essays, presentations, and practical observations.

What qualification will I achieve?

Successful completion of year 1 will give you a Foundation Diploma in Uniformed Protective Services Successful completion of year 1 will give you an Extended Diploma in Uniformed Protective Services

What can I do after completing this course?

Once you have completed the course you may choose to continue studying at university.

You may look to start your career in the public services industry and apply for roles in the Police force, Armed forces, prison service or as a firefighter.
