What will I study?

This is a one-year course which will give learners an insight into the Sports and Uniformed Protective Services industry. Learners will study a minimum of 5 units, and these will be a mixture of practical and theoretical units. As part of the course, learners will have the opportunity to participate in personal exercise and fitness, have the opportunity to take part in sport and develop key leadership skills through leading their peers in activities. In addition to the 5 units studied, learners will also be supported with their personal development. This will involve building and developing key transferrable skills required for progression at college, or into the workplace.

How will I be assessed?

You will be assessed through a range of practical and coursework assignments. There are no exams in this qualification.

What qualification will I achieve?

Level 1 Certificate in Sport

What can I do after completing this course?

On completion of the course, learners may have an option to progress onto further study. This could include a Level 2 Sport or a Level 2 Preparation for Public Services course. Alternatively, learners may want to go into the workplace/

Are there any extra costs?

All learners are expected to wear specific college branded kit/uniform. Costs of these can be given at interview. Approximate costs are £100.

All learners are expected to participate and be able to fully complete all aspects of the course including theoretical and practical based lessons. Learners should have a keen interest in sport, exercise and physical activity.
