What will I study?

During our one-year Certificate in Sport you will gain an insight into the many disciplines associated with, and incorporated in sport. You will develop practical skills, theoretical knowledge and understanding of the sports industry throughout the course. Learning will take place in the classroom and in our fully-equipped gym where you will explore the components of fitness, how to improve sports performance, how lifestyle and wellbeing can impact of personal fitness and performance, as well as analysing the mind and what affect psychology can have.

What previous qualifications or experience do I need?

Minimum four grade 3-9 at GCSE or successful completion of the Level 1 course, and English and/or maths at grade 3.

How will I be assessed?

You will be assessed through a range of methods including assignment and practical observations.

What qualification will I achieve?

Once you have completed this course you will be awarded a Level 2 Certificate in Sport

What can I do after completing this course?

On completion of this course you can progress on to one of the following courses; Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport Level 3 Sports Coaching Level 3 Personal Training Level 3 Sports Massage Level 3 Outdoor Adventurous Activities

With additional training you can start your career as a Fitness instructor, Personal trainer, PE teacher, Youth worker, Sport coach or Outdoor Educator.
