It is home to our Construction, Engineering, IT and Computing, and Music subjects. Our workshops and equipment are industry standard, meaning our students are well prepared for work once they finish their studies.
The lower ground floor
Realistic Working Environment
In the realistic working environment on the lower ground floor we have live build areas where our bricklaying, carpentry and engineering students are able to learn their trades.
Bricklaying
Bricklaying students are able to practise their skills in building and block work, inside the workshop and outside in the construction yard.
Carpentry
Carpentry students use the workshop to learn hand tool techniques and then use the realistic working environment to construct timber frame structures, hang doors, fit flooring, and put together roof trusses.
Engineering
Engineering students learn workshop practices and understand how to use lathes, mills, and welders in the engineering workshop.
On the ground floor
Plumbing
Up on the ground floor we have the rest of our construction subject workshops. Our Plumbing students are able to cut, bend, and solder copper piping while working in their own plumbing bay to understand domestic, industrial, and commercial plumbing.
Electrical
Electrical installation students also benefit from their own electrical bay to understand the principles of electricity and understand how to wire a house.
Painting and Decorating
The Painting and Decorating workshop supplies students with a range of industry standard tools and small-sized rooms so that they can practise a range of decorative techniques. Students are able to paint walls, doors, fixtures and fittings, as well as hang wallpaper and apply other specialist finishes.
The first floor
Engineering Theory Rooms
On the first floor you will find our Engineering theory classrooms. Here, our Level 3 Engineering students delve deeper into the theory of engineering, explore computer-aided design, and experiment with the 3D printer.
Computing Suite
Our IT and Computing suites are on the opposite side of the floor and are packed with the latest hardware and software for our students to use while coding websites, creating databases, and designing their own computer games. They also get the chance to test out the latest virtual reality games on the HTC Vive.
On the second floor
Library
Our Library is also on the second floor. Not quite as big as the one at Station Plaza, but it is still stocked with everything you need to help you with your studies.
