Coast Restaurant opened its doors for an exclusive pop-up dining experience which saw ESC Hastings alumni, Marcus Clayton, and current students prepare a five-course vegetarian meal, featuring a pared-down version of the dish that won him the prestigious S.Pellegrino Young Chef award.
This proved to be a fantastic opportunity for current students who have ambitions of following in Marcus’ footsteps. They gained critical firsthand experience of how the best in the business operate in such a competitive industry.
Following Marcus’ visit to the College, Coast Restaurant Manager, Jakki Pransky, said, “This pop-up evening was a wonderful opportunity for our current students to see firsthand what they can achieve after they leave our course. Marcus studied at the College only a few years ago and with the passion and knowledge gained here, he has carved a path for himself within the industry.
“Marcus was more than happy to come back to the College for the pop-up and was quite excited when I approached him with the idea. The event proved to be a fantastic experience for our students.”
At Coast Restaurant, current ESC Hastings students prepare, cook, present and serve delicious contemporary dishes in the restaurant, as part of their training, at an affordable price. The restaurant boasts 5* reviews on TripAdvisor!
