Catering students, as part of the College’s Kings Restaurant, have continued to show their support to the local community by hosting a pop-up brunch cafe. The College is working with Eastbourne Foodbank on this project which will continue for four consecutive Monday’s this term.
The cafe was hosted at Gateway Christian Church in Hampden Park on Monday morning, and will be for the next three Monday’s! The students created a menu featuring a cooked meat breakfast, a vegetarian breakfast, and a fruit smoothie.
Jenny Knowles, Hospitality and Catering Lecturer at East Sussex College Eastbourne, said, “We are inviting Eastbourne Foodbank clients to enjoy a lovely breakfast cooked by our Level 1 Hospitality and Catering students and take part in a hands-on activity. Today we made healthy smoothies and next week we will have an omelette and pancake station running.
“The feedback today was great, and the students really enjoyed their off-site lesson, a win-win all round!”
