Students are encouraged to use WEX Week to plan and apply for Work Experience, using resources and information, geared toward helping them find a valuable and relevant placement.
Kate Edwards, Head of Student Services at East Sussex College, says, “Every student at East Sussex College has the opportunity to participate in work experience during their course. Experience of the working environment will enhance a student’s employment opportunities and be an important addition to their CV. We also understand that the most successful placements are the ones students source for themselves so we encourage students to use WEX Week to do this.”
Once students have approached an employer for Work Experience and been offered a place, the College will work with the employer to make sure the required health and safety requirements for student placements are in place.
Students can also take advantage of the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to take part in international Work Experience, thanks to the College’s partnership in the Erasmus+ programme. In previous years, this was offered to students under The Turing Scheme.
It’s an exciting time for students to take their next steps toward the working world. Resources and support is available to ESC students online.
For any additional help and queries, students can reach Placement Coordinators at their chosen campus: Workexperience.Eastbourne@escg.ac.uk , Workexperience.Lewes@escg.ac.uk, Workexperience.Hastings@escg.ac.uk.
