Its aim is to raise awareness of the deep inequalities in society as collectively we must strive for gender equality. East Sussex College is no different when it comes to the target of achieving a gender equal world.
Rebecca Conroy, CEO and Principal at East Sussex College, said, “International Women’s Day is a day to come together and inspire each other. In my role this means inspiring all students to believe in themselves, find their passions, work hard, and be kind… I believe these are the four best ingredients!
“Promoting equality, diversity and inclusion at the College is a huge driver and priority for me and it starts with a culture of respect and celebration.”
She added, “East Sussex College has courses for students of all ages, abilities, backgrounds and students from all over the world. It is what makes us such a wonderful college, where people can truly be themselves and reach their enormous potential.”
East Sussex College is home to many successful female alumni, many of whom have challenged gender stereotypes to pursue their passion in what is still considered to be largely male dominated industries. This International Women’s Day we celebrate some of the talented women who have studied at East Sussex College.
