Hastings-based award-winning writer, director, actor and producer, John Knowles, spoke to UAL Level 2 Creative Media students at the Lewes campus about an exciting Work Experience opportunity.
The students are creating promotional materials for John’s new play ‘The Devil’s Doorbell’ which has already received outstanding reviews at the Shakespeare North Playhouse in Prescot. The play is about identity, sexuality and breaking free from coercion to become the true you.
The project visit provided the Level 2 Creative Media students with real life industry experience, as they worked on a real client brief, a client who also happens to be one of the industry’s finest.
David Sakula, Creative Media Lecturer at East Sussex College Lewes, said, “This is a fantastic opportunity for media students to work with a writer, actor and director from the creative industries to promote a theatre production. John briefed the students on his play "The Devil’s Doorbell'. Now they are busy researching and producing designs for posters and flyers, both for print and online.”
