Students studying Art and Design, Music and Media are set to be heavily involved in three major upcoming events over the next month as part of their studies: The Towner, Eastbourne Alive and The Turner Prize.
Matt Kemp, Head of Curriculum for Creative Industries at ESC Eastbourne, said, “We are working on a number of projects with Towner, Eastbourne Alive and the Turner Prize. This is a really exciting time for the town and for the students and staff at the College.
“There are plans for Art and Design, Music and Media students to be involved with a range of activities as part of the Turner Prize coming to Eastbourne. Art and Design students are visiting the exhibition, taking part in workshops and planning an intervention with our local council which is really exciting. Media students are going to be broadcasting from the exhibition and interviewing those involved with Towner, Eastbourne Alive and the Turner Prize.”
Matt added, “Music students are planning to compose and record material inspired by the artists and their work which will also be a great opportunity for them to be involved in this international project and gain some real world experience creating content for public performances and exhibition spaces.”
