After completing the Creative Media Production course at East Sussex College, Joe used the knowledge he gained in video production and social media to create and grow his personal YouTube channel, which served as his primary portfolio.

Students Showcase Video Game to Industry Experts at EGX 2023

Harley Adams, a Level 5 HND Creative Media Production student, took charge of designing, modelling, texturing, and animating the main protagonist, ‘Specter’. Ciaran Thistle and Michael Barlow, Computing students, contributed numerous Game Design ideas and provided quality assurance throughout the process.

Creative Media students hustings coverage goes viral

The first-year students, who study the extended diploma in Creative Media Production, were invited to cover the event and produce promotional videos for all four candidates for the Hastings Independent Press. Applying strict rules of journalistic impartiality the students devised a set of standard questions from a student perspective to ask all the candidates. They then put the candidates in the college’s glass elevators and asked them for their elevator pitch for the youth vote of Hastings.

Creative Media students grill Hastings MP and cabinet minister Amber Rudd

Five students were selected from a class of 30 on the popular Visual Effects and Creative Media Production course and travelled to London for the day on Monday 11th March. They were able to research and collect material about a range of different topics including the ownership of Hastings Pier, homelessness, cannabis legalisation, global warming, and student debt.

The College’s brand new facilities at the former UTC@Harbourside in Newhaven is preparing to open its doors for the first time on 21 March. It’s a great opportunity for prospective students to view the modern, industry-standard facilities ahead of its opening for the 2023/24 academic year. David Sakula, Creative Media Lecturer at East Sussex College Lewes, said, “This is a fantastic opportunity for media students to work with a writer, actor and director from the creative industries to promote a theatre production. John briefed the students on his play "The Devil’s Doorbell'. Now they are busy researching and producing designs for posters and flyers, both for print and online.”

UEA, ranked 27th in the Times and Guardian University guides, will work with the College to validate the College’s HE programmes at Eastbourne and Lewes from September 2023. These include programmes in Person Centred Counselling, Complementary Healthcare, Music Production and Creative Recording, Digital Media Design and Animation, Art and Practice.

ESC Celebrates HE Graduates at Grand Hotel Ceremony

Guest speaker Simon Skinner, an alumnus of the BA (Hons) Music Production course, spoke about how his skills, acquired during his time with ESC, have served him to this day as the Managing Director of Racquet Studios. Simon's career has spanned a broad spectrum of media, from live production in music to magazine publishing and creative agency, and more recently in cutting-edge virtual film production.
