Alumni to Premiere Musical at Famous New York Nightclub

Joe and Frankie’s musical is set to be performed at 54 Below on 23 August at 9:30pm. As described on the 54 Below website, ‘the show follows three young people attempting to navigate through life’s hardships whilst striving for a sense of belonging. It tackles important issues and personal battles such as accepting your own sexuality, feeling like you’re not good enough for the world, and fighting to achieve one’s dreams and goals by any means necessary. The show consists of four different sections introduced by original poetry, providing a narrative for the songs that follow.’

Musical Theatre and Art student Brianna Kelly from the Lewes campus said: “I got double distinction star and an A* in my A-Level! It was intense studying a BTEC and an A-Level course together but the tutors were very supportive and put up with all my out of hours emails! I'm now going to Guildford School of Acting to study Musical Theatre.”

“I’m a big fan of musicals so working on this project for the Royal Ballet & Opera House is amazing, doing this has been an honour, really cool! We’ve had a lot of client brief projects throughout the course and this prepared me well for this project. I received a lot of support from James throughout. I’d sit with him and look through all the fonts so there was a lot of communication!”

Sarah’s journey from ESC to award-winning musician

Driven by a desire to keep the musical flame alive beyond college, Sarah co-founded the 'Lewes Music Group,' an initiative that has evolved into a beacon of musical excellence in the community. The Lewes Music Group, which stemmed from the Lewes Youth Band, now encompasses diverse musical endeavours, including the Lewes Big Band and Jukebox 1264, while also conducting charitable music workshops.

Each of the open events will take place from 5:00pm until 7:30pm and will be jam-packed with activities. Along with live musical performances, guests can also expect to get involved with live cooking demonstrations, investigate a road traffic collision, take part in personal training sessions, experience virtual reality gaming, watch a make-up tutorial, and record their own music track.

College Alumni wins award after RuPaul’s Drag Race UK appearance

Speaking to the College in October about her involvement in the BBC show, Anubis said, “It’s kind of surreal to be fair. I’ve been watching the show for seven years and I’ve always loved musical theatre, always loved drag, I’ve loved performing and music, so this show obviously incorporates all my passions. I auditioned for it quite a while ago and then luckily got on and now here we are today! It’s great, but very surreal!”

Alumna Joins West End’s 'Cabaret' After Inspiring Return as Guest Lecturer

“The impressive performing arts facilities at East Sussex College were the main reason for choosing to study there,” Alex shared. “As well as being able to complete two academic A-Levels, I could maintain a high level of performance training and get qualifications in not only dance but also musical theatre. When attending the open day, teachers were so passionate about their work - it was an incredibly inspiring day. The training I had at East Sussex College set me up for the many auditions for performing arts conservatoires and university accredited colleges I attended for further education in my field.
